The heading attracted me when I saw it in the Punch newspaper of Saturday 10th April page 14, what first went to my mind was if the man operated a prison and what offence the children committed to warrant a 15 year jail term! I was however furious when I realized there was no prison and the venue was the man’s house (not compounds), I got more furious when I realized it was “god” that ordered this man to imprison his children so they wont be wayward!
When we get to heaven, there will be a lot of explanations to make, a lot of mouth will be opened in awe, a lot of surprises and lots more.
There’s no doubt there are a lot of gods and many people claim theirs is the almighty! My wonder is how many almighty we have if we hear different contradictory things he tells his servants.
How will you explain a man calling himself an evangelist, locking up 2 daughters in a flat of two rooms for 15years until death took him away and the children were let loose? The funny thing according to the story is that the girls don't see anything wrong in what their father did, afteral, he wanted them to be well behaved and not to be involved in wordly things! What a clear case of birds that like their cage, even after being released, they still don't want to fly because they are used to crawling and low life. When offered a handshake, they fused looked as if they had been sentenced to death! What could the evangelist have been feeding them? What for Christ sake?
How more cruel can a man be? Locking up his daughters! Well, we were not told he had canal knowledge of the girls but I am not sure if he had spent 4 more years with them, he wouldn’t have told the girls his god had instructed him to be the father of their babies? I wonder why the mother of the girls left the man and decided not to come back for 15 years to ask for the well being of his children, could it be a case of spiritual manipulation? Before I accept he has not even had canal knowledge of the children, I think a test should be done on the children. Who knows what he has done to them and what he told them to back up his acts.
The man did not only deprive the daughters of mixing freely with people but also deprived them of a formal education and allowing them to decide who they want to be.
My questions are these:
1) Are there Nigerian laws that can prosecute such cases assuming the man were alive?
2) The story pointed out a man as a friend of the diseased man who knew all along, shouldn’t the man be tried as an accomplice?
3) How many almighty God do we have when these fake people engage in obviously morally wrong activities and still claim God told them to do it?
Judgment day will be dramatic!!!
the man is obviously mad or shoould i say was obviously mad since he's now dead! God save us.
