Re-Casmir : The mischief of PDP governors

I sent a text to Casmir that I’ll be replying his write up with this heading on my blog because sending a text with this whole piece will be cumbersome for me.
If you don't know Casmir, he is a very good writer with a column in the widely read punch news paper called Musings. He has the floor on the back page of Punch news paper every Sunday. I took note of the guy when he was musing from Cardiff. Though he has not disappointed in maintaining his position as a good writer, I don't always agree with him 100% in some of his write ups.
This Sunday’s 12th April, 2009 write up is very funny to me because it seems Casmir wants the governors to disobey one of the 48 laws of power according to best selling author Robert Greene which states that a subordinate should make his boss very comfortable at being the boss but of course he probably will have his plans of taking over from the boss either peacefully or otherwise. The plans must however be kept to himself so he wont betray his emotions and make his ambition serve as a threat to the position of his boss and possibly lead to a problem in their relationship and thereby incur the wrath of the boss.
The governors led by Dr Bukola Saraki claim they are supporting the president (Yaradua) for a second term in office despite all of us knowing fully the president should go and rest by the time he successfully completes his tenure in 2011. What else do you expect my brother? Do you want the governors to advise him to go and rest so trouble starts? Do you think they don't fear something might even happen to him before then owing to his state of health?
It is only in rare cases that you see Nigerians go against their masters and stand out for the truth despite knowing the master is corrupt! Isn’t it just even normal for the president to resign on the ground of ill health? It is only in Africa that a president is unfit to rule, yet cling to power as though it were his birthright!
Well I don't expect the governors to go against him if they don't want a cut in their monthly allocation. What will surprise me however is if by 2011, none of these governors indicates his ambition to rule Nigeria.

A man (Evangelist) locks his 2 female children up for 15years

The heading attracted me when I saw it in the Punch newspaper of Saturday 10th April page 14, what first went to my mind was if the man operated a prison and what offence the children committed to warrant a 15 year jail term! I was however furious when I realized there was no prison and the venue was the man’s house (not compounds), I got more furious when I realized it was “god” that ordered this man to imprison his children so they wont be wayward!
When we get to heaven, there will be a lot of explanations to make, a lot of mouth will be opened in awe, a lot of surprises and lots more.
There’s no doubt there are a lot of gods and many people claim theirs is the almighty! My wonder is how many almighty we have if we hear different contradictory things he tells his servants.
How will you explain a man calling himself an evangelist, locking up 2 daughters in a flat of two rooms for 15years until death took him away and the children were let loose? The funny thing according to the story is that the girls don't see anything wrong in what their father did, afteral, he wanted them to be well behaved and not to be involved in wordly things! What a clear case of birds that like their cage, even after being released, they still don't want to fly because they are used to crawling and low life. When offered a handshake, they fused looked as if they had been sentenced to death! What could the evangelist have been feeding them? What for Christ sake?
How more cruel can a man be? Locking up his daughters! Well, we were not told he had canal knowledge of the girls but I am not sure if he had spent 4 more years with them, he wouldn’t have told the girls his god had instructed him to be the father of their babies? I wonder why the mother of the girls left the man and decided not to come back for 15 years to ask for the well being of his children, could it be a case of spiritual manipulation? Before I accept he has not even had canal knowledge of the children, I think a test should be done on the children. Who knows what he has done to them and what he told them to back up his acts.
The man did not only deprive the daughters of mixing freely with people but also deprived them of a formal education and allowing them to decide who they want to be.

My questions are these:
1) Are there Nigerian laws that can prosecute such cases assuming the man were alive?
2) The story pointed out a man as a friend of the diseased man who knew all along, shouldn’t the man be tried as an accomplice?
3) How many almighty God do we have when these fake people engage in obviously morally wrong activities and still claim God told them to do it?

Judgment day will be dramatic!!!

Aje meta ( Funke Akindele)

I was not a fan of Funke Akindele even after the much talked about blockbuster “Jenifa”. I saw the movie after so much pressure from people that I needed to see it.
Maybe because I am not a fan of Nigerian movies because of their poor quality, easily predictable nature and bad or poor sound quality, I dont watch any Nigerian movies on my own except it is widely reported as good.
I settled to watch jenifa with so much hope that I’ll see a good Nigerian movie but was not too interested after seeing the first part of the film maybe it was because I had high hopes after hearing so much about the film. Till now I haven’t seen the other part of the film and I am not in a hurry to do that!
I didn’t give Funke any chance after seeing that movie and I wondered why people made so much noise about the movie which to me was just a dry comic. I however changed my mind when I saw her film, Aje Meta!
Aje Meta is a story about a man who was near perfection in handling his job as a horticulturist but did not have anything to show for his ability in terms of material gains. He was not particularly poor but wasn’t able to meet up to his own expectations. His problem was compounded w hen he got married because things went from bad to worse, the intervention of the wife in making him a real man made the film lovely, you need to see it.
Been so long I saw a well written and acted Nigerian movie with little and not so obvious faults. You need to see it. I think Funke did a good job there and needs to be praised. Well done gurl!

Can someone tell MTN please?

I am so unfortunate to have the worst ISP in this country, I was using starcom until I thought they were not living up and I should use MTN, little did I know that was my undoing!
I subscribed for the night plan since that would be the time I can have time for social activities online. On their website, it is boldly written that night plan starts at 10 pm and ends by 5am. Can I boldly say here without mincing words that there’s never a time I have started browsing by 10 pm? Not only that, when it eventually gives me a fake access by 12midnight, yes, 12 midnight, that’s when I start browsing on my line, I only have like a little below one hour to browse until my laptop goes off because nobody is allowed to use the generating set anytime after 12pm in my area and there’s never power!
The very annoying thing about the connections that it disconnects itself every 5minutes I spend online depending on its mood! Sometimes, it disconnects every 10 minutes, sometimes it disconnects immediately I connect disallowing me from gaining access to the internet at all! I don't know who I offended in their office because this is not the first time I will be subscribing for their service.
Ok, I can imagine you asking if I called customer care, did you say customer care? They don't care at all there! Imagine calling for 1hour before your call is picked! Yes, 1hour, that’s the least time you can call before they pick your call there. There’s nothing urgent about their service, you have to wait for so long before they pick and when they eventually pick, they only promise to forward your case to a department I doubt if it exists because nothing forwarded to that department ever gets done!

Precisely my people, that’s why I have not been able to update this site as I should, I have a lot of things in my mind, from the Halliburton funds in a swiss bank, the withdrawal of aides from Atiku, the Somalian pirates, the amnesty promised the militants, the cure for AIDS (stem cells),
